Volunteering is still getting more and more imporant. The demand of social commitment/assignments in developing countries under young people in Austria is growing rapidly. This new trends brings a lot of potential but also enormous risks with it. Especially the so-called volontourism is highly critized. This brand-new topic, but also topcis like sustainaible volunteering assignments, child protection and volunteering, volunteering and professionalization etc. were discussed at this symposium and partly worked out in workshops.
