Garden Project

Since 2011, BRAVEAURORA has been running an 100m² big ecological garden under the directions of the former Austrian volunteer and landscape-expert Eva Pieber. The garden is runned by Malam, the Gardener and the children.

The supply for children and their families with vegetables and fruits has increased. Furthermore people learned about sustainable agriculture without pesticides and a different concept of agriculture.

Because all orphan-children were re-integrated in 2013, the number of children, who actively engage in the garden has reduced sharply. These re-integrated children have now the chance to use their new knowledge directly in their families and learn new skills from their family-members. This is the reason why the Gardening-Project was altered in 2014 to react to the changes adequately. The outreach to local farmers as well as the cooperation with various local NGOs, which are experts in sustainable agriculture was of central importance. The BRAVEAURORA cooperation partner „Organic Farmers“ showed strong interest in working together and would like to use the existing garden as a „training-garden“ in Guabuliga. New biological an ecological forms of farming should be implemented and be part of the workshops and trainings.
